Hola amigas,
Today I did the final enrollment process for this semester. Here are my classes:
1)Tango 2)Grammar 3)Speaking 4)Fiction 5)Argentine 20th Century History (at the Catholic University) and 6) Art and Architecture of Latin America
I am feeling really good about my schedule: I have between 5-7 hours of class Monday through Wednesday, which means 4 day weekends every weekend (great for traveling)! It is such a burden lifted to know my class schedule and not have to try any other classes. I can now fully invest in the ones I am in.
Last night, I went to church with Christa and Sam. We went to one of the two churches my host family goes to. It was a very traditional Methodist church where we were the youngest 3 people there. Most of the attendees were like 50-75 years old. However, there were these two other girls who were probably a little older than us, like 25, who talked to us for like an hour after the service. One of them was a reporter who worked in Brazil and the other invited us to her house for pizza on Friday with other young adults in the church. I am really excited to have made some Argentine friends who hopefully will be patient with us and talking with them will force us to speak Spanish!
Today I also signed up for a cultural immersion group in which we play soccer with the locals! Better start running some more so I can keep up. Im excited for this opportunity both to meet Argentines and to play soccer (which I miss after not playing for 4 years).
I am feeling much more settled in than I did a week ago, and am ready for the semester to truly start.
Thank you for your continued prayers. They are felt and appreciated.
Besos,
Bot
