Hi friends,
In 1 month from today I will be on a plane back to Newark (by way of Chile and then Canada). I know that the next month is going to be filled with lots of work and last minute souvenir shopping. Time here increases exponentially. It's hard to believe that 3 1/2 months ago I pretty much couldn't understand when people talked to me and now I get people asking me for directions (which in most cases I can successfully give). 3 1/2 months ago it was the dead heat of summer, now I'm in my long sleeves, wool sweater, coat, and gloves. 3 1/2 months ago I took buses maybe once a week, now I prefer the buses to the gross subways. In the last 3 1/2 months I have gotten to see new things, like glaciers and waterfalls (both of which are new to me). Even though I have been here 3 1/2 months, I still am surprised when I walk outside and see people protesting (by banging pots and pans). Buenos Aires is a great city and I have been blessed to live here for the last 3 1/2 months.
Prayer requests for this last month:
Please pray that I will make the most of my last month here even though in a lot of ways I wish I was soaking up the sun (not a fan of winter unless I'm snowboarding) or at staff week (CP-my favorite place in the world), instead of writing 10 page papers. Pray for me to have motivation and perseverance. After this week, all of my apartment mates (except Christa, who is here with me) will be heading home from Italy and Australia, so pray for them to have good flights home as well and for their readjustment to the U.S.
